Technical Instructions
SUPPLY OF FILES
Unless stated otherwise, all quotations are based on our customer supplying us with complete final non intervention print ready PDF files, requiring no modifications for processing; any pages not supplied in this manner (e.g. Quark Express or Pagemaker application files only etc) will incur an additional conversion charge. MS files (such as Word or Publisher etc) will also incur an extra charge, to be negotiated after they have been supplied.
Please also ensure that a full set of hard copy proofs are submitted with your files; any jobs submitted without these will be put on hold until proofs are received, this may then possibly cause a delay to the production process and agreed delivery date.
It is also recommended that test files are submitted to our studio prior to commencement of the production process.
Where proofs are produced, it is assumed that this is to ensure digital integrity has been maintained between our respective systems. Therefore any re-supplied pages or amendments will be subject to an additional processing charge; delays in production may also occur due to such changes. Should you not wish to incur these extra costs or delays in delivery, then please ensure your job is checked thoroughly before submitting for processing.

MATERIALS
Paper prices are based on current mill rates and will be subject to price ruling at the date of delivery. Where stated, delivery times for ex-mill deliveries are approximations only, and we recommend that these are checked at the time of placing your order.
DRYING PROBLEMS/PANTONE COLOURS
When using matt coated papers or Pantone colours, it is advised that an additional machine varnish or sealer is applied to reduce the risk of ink pigments marking or rubbing. Our Estimators will not likely be aware of the ink coverage you require, therefore should you feel the quotation requires this extra process, please let us know accordingly, and a revised quotation will be submitted accordingly.
MATT LAMINATED COVER SECTIONS
Matt laminated cover sections printed in solid black or using a similarly dark coloured ink, are prone to marking. Any areas which may come in to contact with finishing machinery can sometimes be highlighted, and become more apparent during this process. Should we be required to produce such images, please contact us for further advice before supplying your final print ready files.
DELIVERIES
Quotations inclusive of overnight deliveries are usually based on next working day before 6pm; should you require a specific timed delivery, please inform us accordingly. Delivery costs are calculated for the specific weight of any given product, therefore should additional items require delivering at the same time (e.g. insert overs, other items from printed stock etc), then extra costs will be incurred. Please also make us aware if the delivery destination has any specific restrictions (e.g. no forklift truck, limited width or height access of vehicle etc). Delivery destinations that require a tail lift vehicle or “handballing” are also likely to incur additional charges.
PAPER
Please note that if the paper is to be supplied by your company, Caric Press operates strict guidelines on the method of supplying such material; these are available by contacting us on 01202 871766.
STORAGE
Unless otherwise agreed in advance, storage will be charged @ £5.00 per pallet/per week, for all products that are not delivered or collected within four weeks from the initial delivery date.
TERMS
Unless stated otherwise, labour prices are firm for 30 days from date of quotation; paper prices however are subject to price ruling on the date of order.
Payment terms must be agreed in advance of commencement of any “productive” work or materials being ordered.
